~*~ ..:Second Sonata of Memory Lane:.. ~*~

Rues always set himself up to react rapidly to any situation, especially when the situation was objects being thrown at his person. It was a common reaction against his sly smile and coy remarks, though usually used but women. Rues adjusted the angle of his catch to accommodate for the extra force of the man's throw and caught the glass, twirling it about in pure amusement. The liquid, which had stayed in place by gravity and momentum, was quickly consumed by the man.

"Hate to ruin your party but," he said, placing the glass into the hands of an unsuspecting drunk stumbling by. The drunk soon found the glass empty and stumbled angrily along to a seat, "I believe its time to go home." He took his hand away from the girl's head and pulled off his hood. Red hair fell naturally into his face but vibrant green eyes were visible, cutting a course straight to Ashena's orbs.

"As your guardian, that wonderful position appointed to me by Ash, I am obliged to stop your conversations from turning disastrous, which," he laughed though serious in his expression, "they always do. I cannot let you fall into the wrong hands." Perhaps she'd pay a bit more attention upon seeing his face. He hadn't changed at all besides ignoring the usual cowboy hat and famous leather jacket he once dawned. It made him look a bit more plain, not as memorizing. But he was, indeed, still Rues. And she knew his face better than anyone.
