Subject: Just a note to say hello

Hey all! Just thought I would post a note from an old Royal Marquis contra line member. It’s Joe Cherbuy from the Peabody kids (Phil Harriman, Doug Shapero, Jim Cawley and myself). Brings back some memories seeing some of the names from the past.
Got away from corps up until a few years ago when I decided to head down to DC for the 2000 Summer Games (whatever happened to DCI World Championships?). Man, a lot has changed since I have been gone! 3 valves? They call them Tubas now??? B Flat? A pit the size of the Boston Pops? Ballet???? I miss off the line, concert, the toss and exit……
Anyway, glad to see that Chop is still in the game (bumped into him in DC on the subway). After DC, I guess I got hooked again even with all the changes. I drove out to Buffalo last year and already have my arrangements for Madison this year. I got a chance to see good old Ron Genest at the Beverly show and was glad to see him looking so well. Great show with a great crowd.
Ok, the personal stuff? Single Dad (or as my daughter calls me, Mr. Mom) raising my daughter (16 going on 30, boys have to be easier!), Production Manager for a company in Mass for the past 15 years but still prefer small town living in NH (60 miles each way, man I am tired). Feel old seeing those young kids on the field but glad to see the activity still exists.
Alright, enough of that stuff. Keep up the good work on the board and now that I have found it, I will certainly be checking to see more blasts from the past. Hope you are all well and walking tall, I may have lived in Peabody but I am still a Maldenite at heart. Feel free to drop a line and say hello.
