Absolutely! I'd love to help out! =)

*

1) Did you graduate from college if so when and from where?

ANSWER: I graduated from Portland State University in late summer 2008.

*

2) How many years were you in college? What is your degree?

ANSWER: I attended the University of Colorado in Boulder for two years, then transferred to Portland State University where I spent four years there. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English.

*

3) What did you do after you graduated?

ANSWER: Despite having not found employment, I have become a ubiquitous volunteer in the Portland, Oregon area, treating volunteering as a full-time job. I am a trained Volunteer Leader with the 501-certified non-profit organization Hands On Greater Portland, which connects thousands of volunteers annually through its monthly calendar of service projects and by consulting with businesses and other employers, and have led many projects from helping serve seniors at a local Loaves & Fishes chapter to battling social isolation and alienation at senior centers including the Twelfth Avenue Terrace.

I have also played organizational roles with a handful of festivals, including a co-organizer for the first-ever sensual/spiritual art festival ErosFest Northwest in Portland, and am also Volunteer Coordinator for the forthcoming Earth Day 2010 Festival and PDX Bridge Festival. I recently was awarded the prestigious “Exceptional Service” award by the non-profit Easter Seals Oregon (specializing in providing services to autistic patients and families) and was recognized as “Volunteer Of The Year” by Studio Concepts, Inc. for my work in helping decorate parade floats for the 2009 Grand Floral Parade as part of Portland’s annual Portland Rose Festival.

In my spare time I regularly attend a Conscious Dance called the Sacred Circle Dance on Sunday mornings, produce KBOO Community Radio’s Evening Newscast on Mondays and contribute voice acting talents to their radio theater programming, have actively studied Tantra and attend various Tantric workshops in the community to expand my conscious experience, and have most recently been making forays for the first time into modeling, weekly board game meetups in the community and volunteering as an Announcer at Bingo Nights bi-monthly at a Portland women’s shelter.

4) What are you currently doing?

ANSWER: In preparation for this holiday season, I have a monumentally busy volunteer/social schedule lined up. I will be serving as Volunteer Leader on behalf of Hands On Greater Portland for a handful of forthcoming holiday-themed efforts, including arranging a holiday dinner for Portland’s Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender/Queer community, accommodating visitants at the Grotto’s Festival of Lights, helping families create a Gingerbread Village and dressing up as Santa Claus for the Oregon-based non-profit REACH. I’ll also be volunteering often in several local rescue missions, including the Union Gospel Mission, Blanchet House and the Julia West House, and will serve turkey dinners for senior citizens at the Twelfth Avenue Terrace senior center.

Hobby-wise, I’ve been expanding my reach into modeling after being complimented for my natural beauty, continue to produce the KBOO Evening News, am looking into serving a term through the national non-profit agency Americorps, am looking to revive my job search in 2010 and am looking into starting my own program on KBOO Community Radio soon, centered around New Spirituality.

Beginning next year I will be partnering with the non-profit Impact Northwest to write and produce puppet shows to Portland-area children to help educate them of positive life lessons, from the value of multiculturalism to the beauty of being an individual to helping prevent cyber-bullying, etc.

5) What do you consider your greatest accomplishment/What are you most proud of?

ANSWER: I’d consider it a tie between having made the Dean’s List twice while attending Portland State University (having maintained a GPA above 3.5 with consecutive terms at a 3.75 or above GPA) and receiving the special “Exceptional Service” honor through Easter Seals Oregon! I’ll forever cherish these moments! =)

I wish you and everyone at DA a resplendent holiday season! ^__^

Sincerely,
Noah Eaton
