Alli walked to the Manatova house, with a frown on her face. She opened the door and yelled, “It’s Alli!” She heard a laugh. “What else is new?” Helen called back. Alli grinned and walked up to Jess’s room. She opened the door and smiled dangerously at her friend. “Well, we have been getting friendly with someone. Haven’t we?” She said to her surprised friend. “What?” Jess said. The teen was sitting on her bed and seemed very confused. “It seems that a certain Andrew and you have been getting rather cozy and the whole school seemed to know about it before ME!” Alli said. “Oh that.” Jess said, looking relieved. “We just went on a trail ride and I was going to tell you first, but Ari, his sister, told the whole school!” She continued. “Oh.” Alli said. They chatted for a while, forgetting the problem. Suddenly, Helen knocked on the door. “The party is all set up. Laura & Jacob will be back any minute. Get ready real quick!” She said, shutting the door and heading downstairs. They brushed their hair and touched up their makeup. Alli was wearing a light blue top that said ‘Angel’ and a pair of low riders. Jess was wearing a light purple top that said ‘Princess’ and low riders. They jogged downstairs and saw both families downstairs, except for Laura and Jacob. Alli’s family had brought their dogs and the whole living room was filled with both families’ dogs. Susan and Helen were sitting with their dogs, Sparks and Bingo beside them. Jesse and Olivia were sitting and playing Della. Roxanne, Alli’s golden retriever, bounded over, barking eagerly. Patches stood by Jess, bouncing up and down excitedly. Sonya and Rogue were sitting by the door waiting for their owners. Mike and Eric were playing with their beagles, Ittle Bits and Scout. Jon and Suzie were sitting with Max and Ladybug. Aleu and Dingo were romping about playfully. The two huge huskies were brother and sister. Suddenly, Laura and Jacob walked in. “Happy Birthday!” Everyone shouted. Laura had just turned 18 yesterday, a week after Jacob and they had always shared a birthday party. “Wow!” Laura said, smiling brightly.
