Just then, 2 people walked into the kitchen.Jennie recognized the brown haired woman as the one who was jumping a horse.the blonde haired teenager, she had never seen before.Dana told Jennie, gesturing to each person in turn, "thats Jasmine, she's 18, & thats Jewel, who is 16." Once Jasmine, Jewel & Alex(who came in right after Jewel & Jasmine)had gotten there lunch & sat down, Dana & Alex made an anouncement."Ok every1," said Dana, "your probably wondering why Jennie is here, except for Arianna.Well, Your dad & I have just adopted her today, so say hello to your new sister, Jennie." Everybody said a friendly hi, or hello to Jennie, & got to eating.I(Jennie)was sitting next to the girl named Jewel, & Arianna.Jewel asked me "so do your ride?" I nodded."What disciplines?
I ride western & do pleasure, showmanship, halter & reining, but mom is teaching me english, I'm adopted to you know." I told her "I know how to ride english,
& used to jump 3 feet, but then I moved to another adoption center & started doing western.I do western speed sports, & western pleasure & trail." Jewel nodded, & said "cool, we should get along well, by the way, you should talk to Joey, he competes in really big western speed events, but he does grand prix jumping to." I asked her "do you mean that tall, dark haired guy?" Jewel nodded & said "the easy way to remember us all is that Jonathan & Darci are what mom calls the 2 little ones, Now to remember Joey, think of outgoing,
& thats him.Arianna & I are the blondes, & Jasmine is just, well...Jasmine.
" I nodded & said "thanks, Jewel." Jewel nodded once & went back to eating.
After lunch, Jewel & Arianna caught up to me & Ari(as she wanted me to call her) asked "Hey Jennie, mom gave us her credit card & said that if you want to, we can pick out some furniture for your room & go shopping, if you want to come along when we go into town to pick up some feed & stuff like that.
Want to go?" I nodded."Great!" said Jewel."Lets go right away, Ari & I just have to change out of our barn clothes & we'll be all ready to go." I nodded,
& Ari & Jewel whipped up the stairs to change into some regular clothing.
Arianna came down the steps first, wearing an AE shirt, & a pair of flare jeans & had her hair just hanging down, then Jewel, who was wearing a
Gap t-shirt & a pair of flare jeans, with her hair in a bun."Ready to go?" Jewel called to me.I nodded & we all put our shoes on, & walked outside to Jewel'
s black convertible.("Sweet, huh?")We all got in, & Jewel started the engine,
pulled out of the driveway, & got onto the road."How about we go to the tack store first.Calypso just broke his leather halter, that silly horse..." I asked her "you mean that big black horse in the paddock?" Arianna nodded & said "yep, thats him, he's a Holsteiner stallion." I told her "you know, it might be a coincidence, but your mom seems so much like the famous rider Dana Smith.
" Arianna giggled & said "because she IS the famous ride Dana Smith, & Calypso is her olympic winning stallion." I gasped & said "you mean that this whole time, this whole time I have been around an olympic rider, & I never even knew it?!?!" Jewel & Arianna nodded together."Wow," I said softly.We reached the tack store & Jewel parked in the parking lot.We got out of the car & walked into the large tack store."Hey there Helen," Arianna called to a woman at the counter with a wave."Hello there Ari, Jewel.Who's your friend?" she said.
Jewel told her "this is our newly adopted sister, Jennie." "Hello Jennie, nice to meet you.I'm Helen, I own the tack store, & I co-own Green River Farm with a woman named Susan." I said "Nice to meet you too." Helen asked us "so what are you girls here for?" Jewel told her "some saddlepads, a new leather halter for Calypso, a few leadropes, & a few other things." Helen nodded."Well," said Ari to Helen, "I guess we had better get shopping." Helen smiled & said "yep.
" Jewel grabbed a shopping cart & she led us to an aisle.Ari said "first on the list is the halter, & leadropes, oh yeah & the legwraps, which we can all find in this aisle.Then we need to pick up a new lunge whip, & another lunge line, were going to need a blanket for the new foal & a little halter for the new foal, plus the saddlpads & I need a new jumping crop, since mine broke." Jewel nodded & grabbed the items we needed & put them in the shopping cart.Once we had gotten everything we needed, we checked out & left after saying good-bye to Helen.Then we headed over to the feed store to pick up some feed, & then the grooming store for some fly spray.Now it was time to go shopping for me.As we drove to the riding apparel store, Ari asked me "You might want to pick up some english riding clothes as well, because if I know mom, & I do, she most likely plans on re-teaching you to ride english." I said "ok then." Jewel parked the car, & we walked into the riding apparel store.Here is what we bought:
~3 pairs of breeches(1 pair beige, 1 pair baltic blue, 1 pair forest green)
~tall boots (black)
~paddock boots (black)
~velvet helmet
~english chaps(suede leather, moss green, w/ dark tan piping)
~western boots
~western chaps
~jeans
~jumping crop
~2 pairs of gloves(1 pair black colored, 1 pair tan colored)
~western trail spurs
~english training spurs
~western training spurs
then we headed over to the furniture store.I decided to buy:
~a pine desk(to match my bed)
~a pine bookshelf
~3 pine shelves
~a bean-bag chair
~curtains(white lace)
~blankets(covers, white, with flower pattern all over them.)
~a computer chair
It would all be delivered to the house the next day.Then we went & bought some other things for my room, decorations, plants, some books & trinkets,
that sort of stuff.After a day of shopping, Jewel drove us all back home.Jewel parked the car in the driveway of Timeless Farm, & we all piled out.I followed Ari & Jewel back up to the house.We all were carrying shopping bags.I put all of my new stuff in my room, Then I went down to the barn.Jasmine was in the barn,(which I later learned was the young horses barn)just about to grab a lead rope when I walked in."Oh good," Jasmine exclamied when she saw me, "you can help bring in some of the horses.If you want to help, grab a lead rope." I nodded & selected a navy blue, cotton ledrope.I followed Jasmine outside.She opened the gate to a pasture that contained several young horses.Jasmine whistled, & the horses came galloping over to the gate.Jasmine clipped a lead rope to the halter of a bay filly.She told me "You can take in Goddess, she goes in the 2nd stall on the left in the barn you just came from." I nodded & clipped a lead rope to the almost black fillie's leather halter.I led her to her stall, then went back outside, The pasture I had gotten Godess from was now empty.I saw Joey leading in another young horse.Jewel was over by some paddocks.I went over to her & asked her "who can I bring in now?" Jewel, who was clipping a lead rope to a chestnut stallions halter, said "you can take in the stallion on the right of L.L here, Dipped in Chocolate, or Chocolate for short, he goes in the stallions barn.*she gestured at the stallions barn*Then you can bring in Touch, who is on the left of Chocolate." I nodded & went over to Choclates paddock.I looked at him for a second.the beautiful, bay blanket spotted Appaloosa stallion looked glorious standing in his paddock.I whistled, & he came trotting over to the gate.After leading Chocolate back to his stall, I brough Touch in, who was a very gorgous, bay Holsteiner stallion.Once done, helping bring in horses, I helped with the rest of the barn chores.When I finally finished sweeping the barn aisle of the broodmares barn(which took even longer to do than it should have because I made it my job to pet every broodmares nose)Joey, Dana's eldest son, came in & told me that supper would be ready in 10 minutes up at the house.Then Joey went off...
