* "Mom, do i really have to help you at Flying Chances after we drop Dusty off? can't you just drop me off here?" Hannah protests as she puts protective shipping bandages on the black quarter horse's legs. Stardust picks up her legs irritatedly as Hannah leads her to the courtyard where Saddle is waiting with her trailer. she loads like a pro, then Saddle and Hannah get into the truck. "Sorry, Hannah. i don't have time to drop you off back here before i head over there. i need to be there on time so all the stalls are done before people come looking for horses." Saddle tells her. "Okay...." Hannah sighs. They arrive at Forever Creek and unload Stardust. Leah looks thrilled at the black filly. "Take good care of her! she's a great filly" Hannah calls. Leah nods and smiles. "I promise i will, thank you for selling her to me" Leah replies. Saddle and Hannah say goodbye then head to Flying Chances, Saddle's thoroughbred retirement facility. "We're running late, can you start on the stalls while i make sure the office and tack rooms are clean?" Saddle asks. Hannah nods and grabs a wheelbarrow and pitchfork. She looks at the first horse's stall card. "Hi, Tommy, we're just going to crosstie you here so i can clean you stall" she tells the horse. He dances excitedly in the crossties while Hannah cleans his stall. then she cleans and refills his water bucket and puts him back in his stall. the playful colt nips at her as she shuts the bottom of the dutch door. Hannah dodges his teeth and heads to the next stall. the next stall was covered in "WARNING: I BITE, KICK, AND CHARGE" signs. Hannah opens the top of the dutch door and grabs the mare's halter, then she runs the chain over her gums and leads her out of the stall. she crossties her in the isle and cleans her stall, then gives her fresh water. as soon as the stall is clean and there is fresh water in the bucket, Hannah turns her back into the stall and lets her loose. She slams the door as the mare wheels to kick at her and closes the top door as well. Next she cleans a gray gelding named Silver's stall. the gelding is sweet and well mannered and she gets his stall done in no time. The final horse stands looking dejected in the back corner of her stall, resting her right foreleg. Hannah quietly enters the stall and clips a lead to the filly's halter. the horse limps out of the stall following her. Hannah cleans her stall and gives her fresh water. Saddle walks by with a prospective adoptor. "This is a pretty horse" The man says. his wife and daughter nod. "Whats wrong with her legs?" the daughter asks. "Pulled tendon and chipped knees" Saddle replies. "She'd make a nice broodmare or pasture ornament" The wife says distastefully. the daughter nods. Hannah frowns, insulted at how they could talk about the sweet, co-operative filly. "There are always more horses coming in, you don't have to pick a horse today" Saddle tells them. "Oh, then we will look again, this filly will never be more than a pasture ornament" the woman says. Hannah turns and leads the filly into her stall, then goes to clean the pastures and put water in the troughs. once that is done, Hannah turns out Tommy, Silver and Kim. by then Saddle is finished with the people. "Mom, how bad is that bay filly hurt?" Hannah asks. "Not very badly, her knees were repaired perfectly with surgery and her tendon is only mildly pulled" Saddle replies. "I think i want to buy her, she's such a sweetie!" Hannah tells Saddle. "Are you completely sure this is the horse for you? she'll need 3 more months before she can even be ridden" Saddle cautions. "I'm sure that she is the horse i want to buy with the money from Dusty" Hannah tells Saddle. "Alright, then she is yours" Saddle tells Hannah. "Thank you Mom!" Hannah exclaims. "You just need to fill out the adoption papers, then we can take her home tonight" Saddle tells Hannah. "Ok, give me the papaers then, i'll fill them out." Saddle leads Hannah to the office and takes out a folder marked "Dream Come True" and sorts through it. finally she pulls a packet out of the folder and hands Hannah a pen. Hannah busilly fills the forms out, then gives them to Saddle, who looks over them, then looks at her watch. "Lets bring Tommy, Kim and Silver in, then feed all these guys and we can bring Dream home" Saddle instructs. they hurry through feeding, then Hannah prepares the filly to be shipped. The filly gets onto the trailer willingly and they take her home. they leave her standing in the trailer while Hannah picks out a stall for her and puts fresh shavings, water and hay in it. then they unload the filly. she looks around and nickers nervously, but willingly follows Hannah to her stall. she walks a few circles, then stands and munches on her hay quietly. Hannah looks in proudly at her. after a little while, Mikki walks down to the barn. "Is this your new project?" Mikki asks. "Yeah, this is Dream" Hannah replies proudly. Mikki shrugs and looks dissapointed in his sister's choice. "She's cute. Mom says its time to come up to the house for dinner" Mikki tells her. "Ok, let me say goodbye to Dream, then i'll be up." Hannah tells him. she looks at her bay filly and whispers "Don't worry, we'll prove them all wrong, you'll be the best horse here someday" to Dream. Dream looks at her and snorts softly, then continues eating her hay. Hannah walks up to the house, leaving her new horse for the night*
