Just wanted to keep everyone updated on what's been happening in the off season:

1. The new SWCA Committee had its first meeting last Thursday to discuss the coming season (I know, I know, it's still only June - but... there's lots of planning to be done!). The Committee consists of:

Cheryl Bernhard (North Sydney Leagues)
Dot Brewer (Berala)
Jim Cooper (HK & HDCA)
Leanne Frost (Macquarie Uni)
Chris Matthews (Balmain)
Sally Moffat (Balmain)
Trevor Parker (Umpires Assoc.)
Sally Pratt (Bankstown)

Chris Matthews was elected Chairperson. The SCA received 8 applications for the Committee and they have agreed that in the first year of operation all 8 applicants are appointed to ensure that the competition operates efficiently. A myriad of topics were discussed (thanks to Chris's FOUR page agenda!!!) mostly concerning the amalgamation with SCA and preparations for the coming season.

2. The first Council meeting of the new season will take place (as usual) on the first Monday in July (3/7/00) at the usual place and the usual time. Your Club representative should receive the agenda in the mail very soon.
