Balmain won the toss and elected to bat which they did for 123 overs.

They made 213 runs with rain interruptions on the second day dragging their innings out until 2.50pm.

Leonie Coleman was caught behind for a duck in the 3rd over before Lisa Keightley and Elly Williams got the innings onto an even footing. Williams was the next to fall, brilliantly caught and bowled by Alex Blackwell.

Martha Winch scored a quick 17 before being caught in the cordon by Jodie Davis two balls after hitting the shot of the match - a pull for 4 to the longest boundary.

Sarah Stephenson and Keightley nearly made it to tea before Stephenson lashed out at Narissa Dolbel and was caught behind.

Keightley fell not long after the break for 63, lofting Dolbel's slower ball to mid off.

Captain Julie Hayes and Sue Marsh then saw Balmain to stumps at 5/171 off 93 overs.

After a delay of 48mins, Marsh was out for 41 in the second over of day 2 and Hayes soon followed as 4 wickets fell for 10 runs. A potential match winning partnership of 32 then ensued between Moira Williams and Tiffanie O'Neill before O'Neill was out lbw to Blackwell.

Lisa Sthalekar bowled well for Gordon without luck conceding less than 1 run an over off her 35 overs. Bronwyn Calver claimed 4/53 off 36 overs while Blackwell, Dolbel and Anneveld chimed in with two wickets apiece.

Gordon were left with a maximum 56 overs to try and win.

With the innings finishing in darkness, Gordon were all out at 6.04pm for 158 in the 49th over to lose by 55 runs.

Kate Blackwell top scored with 37 while Sthalekar followed up with a well made 30.
