Subject: The lamentable story of Silvanus

After the ayer first came, my brother and I were seperated; He lives in the trees and I dwell in the cliffs. One evening, I was just departing from a visit to him, and had left himm sitting on a branch, viewing the sunset. About a minute later, I heard a snap and a scream come from his direction, and hastily hurried back. The branch he had been sitting on broke, tumbling him down towards the ayer. Enough branches slowed his fall so that he landed relatively unhurt, when the ayer found him. It was not yet full dark, and so it was only a small band. They managed to effect him with their deadening powers before I could drive them off. I carried him back up to the trees, but he has not recovered. That was three years ago, and now what was once the merriest boy in the village walks around, full fo gloom.
