To answer your question I think people feel truly happy at all different times. For some it's just deciding whether to continue in the pregnancy or not. Others it's when they finally break the news to family. For some it's when they see that little heart beat pounding away on the sonogram screen and others when they see their little one for the first time and actually get to hold them--what an amazing feeling! So, there is all different times people genuinely feel happy about a pregnancy. But give yourself time...this is still quite a shock to you. You sound like a great guy and will be a GREAT daddy! You are already showing signs of protecting this child. As far as telling family, I think once you get that off your chest, that will be a huge burden lifted. Be prepared--you'll probably get all sorts of reactions, but the good news is, they'll most likely come around, especially when they see that little cutie for the first time! :) If you are having financial issues along with this, please let me know. I'd be more than happy to help you find some pregnancy centers in your area that can help you guys if that is what you need. In the meantime, please come back anytime you like! You are more than welcome to post as often as you feel you need to!
