My wife and I returned from Spain just a week ago.We were visiting a little fished area of the river Ebro. It was 17 November, the weather was still warm enough to walk around in T-shirts and sunbathe on the beach. We sat by the river having a beer when we noticed a couple of herons and a couple of cormorants on the far bank. An eagle flew by too. Common carp were in the shallows just a few feet away and
catfish were there in abundance splashing around every now and then and making their presence very clear. The area is surrounded by mountains and access to the river was easy. No bamboo jungles to wade through to get to the water here! What I couldn't understand is why so few people were fishing this area when all around there are companies specialising in the upstream stretches near the dams. There is certainly good sport to be had here. Just thought I'd let people know that there is good fishing in the less known less commercialised areas of the Ebro. We will be returning in the spring and will start taking bookings again soon. John. www.ebro-fishing.com
