It all depends is the answer. The bigger fish are definately up where the Segre enters the Ebro near Mequinenza, this is fish soup up here. But it is very busy and a bit of a circus. Up there the Bavarian camp is probably the best best. I personally like the lower reaches of the Ebro below Tortosa to the sea. I fish here 4-5 times a year. But the fishing is a bit harder but more unknown. I have been using a guide called Derek Curzen down here, he is quite reasonable and can provide accom nearby in a B&B or caravan site. If you were going to combine with a family holiday the lower reaches are near the coach, so the Stretch from Salou to Castellon would give you access to the Ebro with 45 mins in either direction along the motorway. derek is on derek@eaar.co.uk or tel 0034653384828. He is worth a chat to even if you don't use him. Also don't forget the ebro is stuffed with carp. But it's a bit like catching dace to be honest, one a chuck and every one is 3lb. There are 50lb river fish, but getting through the small stuff is a nightmare.
