If you are coming down to Horning to fish the Bure be prepared for some very clear water. In Norfolk we havent had any serious rain for months and all the rivers are crystal clear. The last few days has seen a few showers and sky threw ice at us yesterday. I havent fished the bure for a few years but heres a few things that used to work for me.

1) Be up early, I used to catch 90% of my bure fish between an hour before and an hour after 1st light. This is very likely given the clear conditions.
2) Smelts, whole eels (not sections) and big roach used to produce the goods early season.
3) If you have access to a small boat then try trolling with big baits just off the bottom, slowly not on the outboard as its illegal in Norfolk.
4) Swan Bend, in front of the swan, and downstream past the ferry are good spots to try.
5) Fish the edges as well as the middle.
6) Ondex spinners and large spoons, used to produce fish later in the day.
7) If you cant get on the bank well before first light, stay after dark, first two hours of darkness often produced the goods.
8) Boat dyke and broads entrance often hold shoals of roach this time of year.

Hope this gives you something to work on, remember the alarm clock and good luck.
