Great story. A few years ago me and a friend discovered a nice little spot where we could scoop roach out of a dyk after dark for using for bait. It was great, 20 minutes with the landing net, bucket of bait in the car and off to the pub. One night a managed to scoop out a pike around 14/15lb along with a load of roach. Talk about lively, I put my hand under the chin to pop it back in the water and it went crazy. I ended up with a pike on my left hand, which was now behind my back, with the pikes jaws firmly clamped beside my right hand pocket of my jacket. My mate was falling aboutl, but somehow managed to perswade the pike to let go and we popped it back.
A few nights later we went back, this time armed with our rods, a scoop with the net and the bait was sorted. I blanked but my friend didnt he managed a 27! Two hours later we were back in the pub, pike can be so obliging sometimes.
