just a question, can anyone confirm that wells catfish exist in the lower thames.i lost a very big fish that was not a carp or pike etc.ie got smashed to bits using 30lb braid and 30lb wire trace.i was fishing for pike at kingston using a dead roach popped 18 inches of the bottom.i keep hearing stories of very big fish being lost when using dead/live fish when fishing for pike.also you hear the same type of stories from carp anglers fishing the same area using fishmeal boiles mainly after heavy prebaiting.also the ccg lists kingston upon thames in its list of uk waters that contain catfish but i cannot find any hard evidence only that a cat of about 20lbs was caught about two years ago on a evening match at canbury gardens kingston by a match angler and returned.now was this fish a one off escapee or part of a breeding population there lies the question i think the latterfood for thought?if you have any thoughts on this please post reply or email me.
