Subject : [aohnn] St. Patrick's Day Greetings In Irish

Per request, here are a few greetings in the Irish Language for the Green Season. Remember from the Christmas expressions posting that you need to change the ending of some greetings depending on whether you are addressing one person (singular) or more than one person (plural). St. Patrick's Day is Lá féile Pádraig, or the Feast day of Patrick. Feile means feast. The title "Saint" is not generally not used in the expressions because only a saint would have a feast day. Enjoy.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! (to one person)
Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Dhuit
(la ale-lah pwad-rig son-ah gwich)

Happy St. Patrick's Day! (to more than one)
Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Dhaoibh
(la ale-lah pwad-rig son-ah deev)

St. Patrick's Day Blessings
Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig!
(ban-ack-tee na fay-lah pwad-rig)

St. Patrick's Day Blessing On You (singular)
Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig ort!
(ban-ack-tee na fay-lah pwad-rig ort)

St. Patrick's Day Blessing On You (plural)
Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig oraibh!
(ban-ack-tee na fay-lah pwad-rig or-iv)

Ireland Forever
Éire go Brách
Air-rah guh braw

I'm Irish!
Is Éireannach mé!
Iss air-in-ack may
