Subject: Facebook msg on Friends of Brendan Lillis

It is all very well sitting at a keyboard and typing out words such as Free our POWS or Tiochfaid ar lar. Now if someone can explain to me how that is helping our lads please do so. There is no offence intended here so I hope none will be taken. You could write this a thousand times each and it will not change one thing. What we need is more action and less words. Since Brendan was freed this site appears to have lost its way in my mind anyway. There is no basic structure on which to build a campaign against the horrendous treatment of our men young and old who have been illegally interned in HM Prisons. I have been thinking a lot about this and what is the best way forward. The guys on the inside must form themselves into a united group and set their stall out so that these monsters are in no doubt that this is only the beginning of a campaign not only to have them charged with their crimes but that there will never be a re-occurence of their brutality ever again, We on the outside become the voices of those on the inside with non stop protests and any other actions deemed necessary to highlight just what is going on inside those stone walled and barbed wire camps. We should also be looking at ways and means to have those camp commandants brought to book and punished for their crimes against humanity. I am not a legal eagle but I am sure if there was a way someone will know this. By continually making the country aware of the plight of our lads maybe just maybe the human rights commission might get involved. Amnesty is not worth, if you excuse this simile, a candle our lads aren't glamorous enough for them. I suggest pickets etc as well as demonstrations and as often as we can never let the sight of what our boys are suffering go away from the news media. In my humble opinion this is the best way forward I may be wrong but I feel in my heart this is the only way to move. Every day we do nothing it's another brutal beating another brutal strip search another day of torture for our boys. Do we really want that? I don't.

MARY MC c.
