Aliena�s parents were both found by Sand�Cats, fortunately by a Londi-thra and a Londi-ek. Alerna was found by Califa and Atorn was found by Notque. There was a surplus of ranking Cats, and Califa and Alerna were not pressed into leadership. They moved to a cave in the nearby wilderness and soon Atorn and Notque joined them. Alerna had twin girls, Aliena and Anuryna. When the girls were 8, Asura was born. The happy family lived in their cave and were not bothered much by the Nuri. Every night, Califa would give the girls rides on her back. Notque and their parents would take them through the desert, teaching them about the plants and animals of the wilderness. Aliena and her sister got a hands-on education about the land of Krendum, even if they never attended �real� school.
Aliena and Anuryna have hair the color of desert sand and clear green eyes. Freckles cover every inch of their very tan faces, arms, and legs. Aliena is 6 feet tall and loves to learn, soaking up every piece of knowledge her parents told her. She loved to be outdoors and especially loved to be with her parents� �Cats. Her sister is more conservative and prefers to be inside. She knows how to live off the land, having learned with the same alacrity as her identical twin.
When the girls turned 15, they decided to see if they would be found. Anuryna left for the �Dragon�s caverns. The next day, Aliena set out, having less distance to go than her sister. Before she left, her mother gave her some advice that she keeps in mind always. That was how Aliena would always remember her mother, leaning against Califa�s back, stroking the sleek fur. Remember Aliena, She had said, Remember that you must be strong and smart. You must show no fear or anger or sadness. Never ask anything of others if you would not ask it of yourself. You are a good leader Aliena, good luck being found. Aliena had left her parents and sister, seeking to be found by a �Cat, as her parents were, and as Asura also hoped to be.
The next evening, when Alerna, Atorn, and Asura returned from their evening walk, they found a group of Nuri waiting for them at their cave. They were ambushed and Asura was immediately taken by one of the grotesque creatures. Notque and Califa could not attack the Nuri, nor defend their humans, because Asura was being held. The Nuri slaughtered Atorn and Alerna, keeping Asura to hold the �Cats at bay. Then they tried to twist the minds of the �Cats to their own evil ways. Notque rebelled from the start and they eventually killed him. Califa escaped when they killed Asura, and found Aliena on her way to the Sundance Pride. Califa told Aliena what had happened, before collapsing from her terrible wounds and the loss of her partner and mate. Aliena temporarily abandoned her quest to be found. She found Anuryna waiting to be found and told her of the tragedy. The two girls swore, making a pact. �If either of us is found, we�ll find those Nuri and make them pay! Right?� Aliena had said, fire and pain glittering in her emerald eyes. Anuryna had nodded and added, �To find them, we�ll find every Nuri on Krendum and kill them if we have to� �Right.� They had banked the fire and gone to bed. While lying, staring up at the stars as she had with her mother, Aliena made a second promise. �I�ll try to be found by a Londi-thra momma, just like you. Califa will continue on, Momma, and help me find those�Nuri She finally managed to fall asleep. Aliena remembered that night, crystal clear. The next morning the girls had separated, seeking, once again, to be found. But now both girls had a purpose. They would be found, and then find the Nuri and destroy them.
