Subject: A yorkie with a working owner

I was thinking about getting a yorkie. I fell in love with one and I have been doing research on them to see if it is suitable for my lifestyle. I have a 9 year old daughter who I am very confident will be very gentle as she is a very nurturing. My concerns are that I work during the day so the dog would be left alone with two cats during the day. I have read that they do not do well with being left alone but I did not know if that still applies since I have two house cats. I read they do get along with cats. We are very intentive and caring with our pets but do have that problem during the day. Please advise as I would not want to cause the dog to suffer by being alone. Also, if you know of another breed that would be more suitable for a working family with house cats, it would be much appreciated.
