 Umberto Tozzi vervoegt lijst van buitenlandse artiesten
zaterdag 4 mei - 20.30 uur - Antwerps Sportpaleis
Ook Umberto Tozzi (“Gente di Mare”) geeft ‘acte de présence' op EUROSONG LIVE ON STAGE op zaterdag 4 mei in het Antwerps Sportpaleis. Eurosong Live On Stage geldt als opwarmer voor het 47ste Eurovisiesongfestival op 25 mei in Tallinn, Estland. In het Antwerps Sportpaleis zal het publiek kunnen genieten van de grootste songfestivalsuccessen, gebracht door de oorspronkelijke vertolkers of gecoverd door talent van eigen bodem, én de liedjes van de Eurosong 2002-finalisten.
Op het podium in Antwerpen verschijnen naast Umberto Tozzi ook Bucks Fizz (“Making Your Mind Up”), Johnny Logan (“What's Another Year” en “Hold Me Now”), Brotherhood Of Man (“Save Your Kisses For Me”) en Katrina Leskanich - formerly of Katrina & The Waves (“Love Shine A Light”). Uit eigen land worden Sandra Kim (“J'aime La Vie”), Ingeborg (“Door De Wind”), Liliane Saint-Pierre (“Soldiers Of Love”), Lisa Del Bo (“Liefde Is Een Kaartspel”) en Vanessa Chinitor (“Like The Wind”) verwelkomd.
Sommige songfestivalhits zullen door Belgisch talent worden vertolkt. Songfestivalwinnares Sandra Kim brengt “Après Toi” van Vicky Leandros. Paul Michiels zingt “Eres Tu” van Mocedades en Kim Kay laat “Poupée De Cire, Poupée De Son” van France Gall in zijn originele versie horen. Cliff Richards “Power To All Our Friends” klinkt uit de kelen van Voice Male en Spark-zangeres Claudia Caluwé brengt met “Gelukkig Zijn” een eerbetoon aan Ann Christy. Voor enkele nummers wordt nog een geschikte vertolker gezocht, maar presentator Bart Peeters en Bart De Pauw nemen alvast “Jedan Dan” van Luci Kapurso en “Ding-A-Dong” van Teach-In voor hun rekening.
Wuyts & Schepens (“Without Love”), Severine Doré (“Wherever You'll Be”), Spark (“Someday”) en Yasmina (“Take This Heart”) wisselen de nostalgische hits uit het verleden van het Eurovisiesongfestival af met het beste uit Eurosong 2002. De artiest die op 25 mei in Tallinn de Belgische eer mag gaan verdedigen, krijgt van het publiek in het Sportpaleis alvast een extra steuntje in de rug mee.
