The only other XF ep apart from Sein and Zeit where I felt that I wanted to cry. At the end. That end scene can only be described by me as being ...lovely. yes. Lovely. I think that is what made me want to cry and also because it was the last one and the whole ep was done really well. I loved the flash back talk about when they met. And once again Scully got Mulder back on the rails as she has spent the whole 9 yrs doing. And he really does believe in God. Like her. All this time trying to convince us that there was no God , only aliens, only to have Mulder, the skeptic in God, to finally believe. Loved Scully's smile , at that realisation .

And I think all through the show, especially in this scene, DD and GA were having a really good time showing the Mulder and Scully that I think they have wanted to show for a long long time. They did it so well. I know we have seen them show their devotion to eachother , putting their lives on the line etc but not in this kind of loving affectionate way. The way we wanted to see them ages ago. Scully really looked like she was so glad to have Mulder back [physically and mentally] and he got his hope from her devotion to him. Loved his little smile when she told him about why she followed him in the old days. I really loved the leg thrown over her. How normal is that? We finally got to see what we knew went on but were never allowed to see. It's lucky that we have grown so attached to our resident moronos because they would really have to be run out of town now.

I also am glad that the Dana thing didn't keep happening. I realise that it was Mulder's way of saying that he wasn't being himself and also calling Skinner "man" was another warning to them. I am really glad that the Mulder and Scully names remain and I loved Mulder calling her Scully twice in the space of 10 seconds. I remember yrs ago how people would comment on how much they used eachother's names. More than most people normally would.

The rest, ....hmmm....All round I loved the ep. It was done in a very XFiley way , it tied the myth into an easy to understand form, it was a good way to do that by telling the story of each witness and their part in the whole thing. The M and S scenes were great. Nice amount of ship. Good amount of edge of your chair type action. CC did a pretty good job of answering some questions and givng the shippers something to remember.

I really wasn't spoilt by the downloaded clips I have. What really pleased me about this ep was that CC refrained from chopping off his scenes just when they were getting interesting. That always annoyed me about him but this time he had some pretty long scenes, expecially the M and S ones. I appreciated that. Alot. I love when Mulder plays tricks on Scully. LIke in Dead Alive when he woke up and asked her who she was and then smiled. Poor thing. [I had you big time. ]Actually that would have been a good line for Mulder to deliver after she realised he was only putting on an act. The Clarice line was funny. Loved the KISS!!!!About bloody time! Shame it was the usual CC darkness but not too bad. In that kiss scene I loved the openness with which the affection happened. It was almost surreal. The way he grabbed her hand. WE have never seen that type of open loving affection in front of another person before. That felt odd to me,seeing that. Skinner had not seen it either by the way he looked. I still can't believe that it is really them doing that. I mean, all the stuff that we know they've done but haven't seen. It feels odd to actually SEE them smooching like a normal loving couple. And openly calling William their son instead of all this shrouded mysterious crap that CC normally goes on with. I thank CC for clearing all of that up and giving us shippers the thing that we really really wanted.

Nice scene where she tells him she gave William up. Poor thing. Glad he understood. I'm also glad that the whole show wasn't taken up with the court case. I like how they did it fairly quick. What a shamozzle. Mulder was stuffed no matter which way they turned. Nice soliloquy [sp] by Mulder at the end of it. Directed at Kersh. I'm happy that Kersh was on his way to let Mulder out without knowing that the others were doing it. But he probably had guessed. Should make for an interesting movie. [if there is one]

Cancer man....lol lol lol. Was that old woman that Greta sheila that was looking after him two yrs ago when he got pushed down the stairs, or was she a native? Loved the FX when CSM got toasted. WOW!!!! We all really needed to see that. ;-)

Some people wondered why there was no surprise at learning Jeff was Mulder's brother. Mulder always suspected it and had obviously told Scully, so in 'William' when she found out, we didn't see her initial reaction until she went in the room to confront Jeff. In the court room, Mulder may have already known or it was no surprised to him. And we all knew anyway. We had had enough pointers. That time when CSM abducted Scully. He was going on about his legacy. Trying to get Scully to admit she loved Mulder. And when Mulder had that operation. He said he was his son. So...yeah....no surprise. So Sam is dead. Ok. I accept that now. Didn't before.

Love the car kiss. All those times when she has fallen asleep beside him.......now he can give her a kiss instead of accusing her of drooling on him or belting her up the face with a magazine. I liked how they put that bit in there because it is typical Scully. That's another overt display of regular affection that we were never privvy to. All that time , even after she was pregnant and he acknowledged himself to be the father, there was still no affection. Yes, laughing over the pizza boy and some belly feeling but no real ordinary stuff like kissing for the heck of it like regular in -love people do. I find this affection a real novelty throughout the whole ep. It's nice. But weird. I'm not one of those shippers who have been unhappy by not seeing it all the way through. That's the XF way. An addon to the uniqueness of the show. And I appreciate the openness more for having been deprived of it all that time.

And of course we get the usual.....Mulder going in the wrong direction following some hairbrained scheme and her going along with him. Remeniscant [sp] of the movie.

I too laughed when he said he had been looking for the truth and she laughed. Acknowledging the nostalgia of his quest. I am also glad that we found out where he was. That Gibson is pretty resourcefull. Must be hot in those vans out in that desert. yow! Where do they get their money? How did M and S pay for the motel? If Mulder has money quirrelled away then how does he get it without the gov't freezing or tracing it? Does he have a visa card for a Swiss bank account or something? Maybe a Liechtenstein one. Oh I"ve got it. Now I know why the Americans have sent in people to undo the secretive society of those european accounts....it's so they can find Fox Mulder. !!!!!

Mulder is a luny tune. Every thing Jeff wrote about him in those reports is true. I'm not happy with Mulder. He should have gone to Canada. He should have found an airport and he should have gotten on a plane. One with a kangaroo on the tail and a heap of dot paintings of snakes and goannas all over it. And then the next X File movie could have been set in the country that owns those planes!!!!!! But did Mulder do that? No! So I'm not impressed with him at all.

The movie. Well if there is one, good. But I really dont' care if there isn't. That final show left me with such a feeling that I am happy for things to stay the way they are. If there is a movie then it had better be a real block buster. Something to do justice to the show. Such a unique and excellent show. The first movie was great but I think CC had better really get the creative juices going and give us something really special. And perhaps have it end with a real ending incase there are no more. Get the family back together and let them live relatively regular lives. I don't think I want another cliffhanger unending. Although I don't call the finale ep an unending. It just leaves CC open to continue later if he wants but gives us enough closure to be content if there never is a movie.

Well I'm sure there is alot more I can say but I've prattled on here like a crazy person. I"m really really happy with how the ep was done. I have always loved the unanswered style of XF, the myth and mystery and trying to unravel it all. I'm glad there are still questions but they aren't enough to drive me mad and all that theorising over the yrs tells me that most of us had it pretty well right anyway. The myth that is. So yeah, I think CC gave us what we wanted but still managed to keep true to the theme of it all. Thanks CC. Thanks everyone. It's been a great 9 yrs of the show and a great.....4? 5? yrs doing this. :-D

Stardoe [who isn't really going but feels she can move on now and start her new life. ;-) ]
