Although we never hear her last name in the episode. I agree her parents were on their way. It's hard to say when they left but I'm sure they were going to wait until they arrived.

I thought they were checking on what killed the nurse but I don't think we heard any results. They suspected an injection that could be hard to detect and I assume Audrey was checked for the same thing and then they were able to nail the doctor. They have been using the same thing (an injection which makes it appear someone died of heart failure) on All My Children. but The X-Files isn't a soap opera. ;-)
