Now the boy made you think something was real but there was nothing there. So does the other people have to believe it too? I think what the boy thought up was manifested to those around him as everyone saw the giant bugs. So the cat saw and felt them too even though he was probably just sitting there licking himself minding his own business. Damn lazy good for nothing cat!

Dr. Who/X-Files fanfics? I remember Star Trek/Dr. Who fanfics. DW has that annoying Sherlock Holmes style of figuring out something in a minute but not stating his theory until the end of the story as to infuriate his companions and the audience. Occasionally DW was done like Mulder, having one theory and then finding out that was wrong and coming up with another one, etc. Of course the mysteries in DW were all leading to end of the world type stuff, TXF has 10 times the budget but a much lower sense of scale.
