Melissa and Pendrell are alive and married to each other!! I think this kind of "fits" because Pendrell obviously had a bit of a crush on Dana and I have known of several "real life" scenarios where a guy started out interested in one sister and ended up with the other one. (Mulder and Scully are, OF COURSE, together in all my fanfic, Alternative Universe or otherwise.)
