I am the author of "The Burden," which you have on your website. I first published this story in MOODY Magazine in February 1993. I own all rights to this story, and I make my living through my writing. I am so happy to learn that people are being blessed by my story; however, please understand that it is not in public domain. In addition, the story going around various websites is not complete.

The object of this email is not that you should remove my story from your website or that you should pay me for its use, but that you will credit it to me and use the correct, complete version. It is not my intention to sound harsh, just dismayed because I just learned a couple of weeks ago that many sites have posted my story. In early September, Google brought up 223! I know I have a big task ahead of me informing all these website owners, but I've been advised by my agent and literary advisors to do this for my own protection. It will also be to your advantage.

If you would like to continue to post the story, please ask me and I will be delighted to email the complete version to you with the understanding that my name be listed clearly as author as follows:
