Subject: I don't know what to do

Its a very long story but cutting to the chase I have been seeing a girl that works in the same office as me we both have hidden the relationship from the co-workers around us I have been seeing her for about a year. A few weeks ago she told me that she wanted to finish the relationship because her ex-boyfriend that lives in america has phoned her up and wants her back she was with him for 2 years in the states and then spoke to him over the phone when she was in england in a long distance relationship which failed because those things never work. She found me at work and we had a great relationship a few different things to do with personality I like to go out she is more of a homebody but other than that thats it. I know that she worked very hard to go and live in the states and now that her dream has been revitalised I have been dropped but she has said that she still loves me and has been to a shrink who hypnotised her and she is of the option that he is the better bet than me. I am on anti-depressants and I am going out of my mind trying to think of ways to make her stay with me. She has said that once she has gone out there to visit him that then she will be able to make a decision on whether he is what she remembers him to be and if she wants to choose him, if not she says that she will come back and then try again with me. She says that I am not the booby prize but I definately feel like I am, the whole situation is getting on top of me and I feel that I am going to pop at any moment. I have tried to be a nice guy and allow her to do this my mates think I'm crazy but I really wanted to get married to this girl and go and live in australia have kids do the normal life thing. Its the first time in my life that I had any kind of Direction other than my career. I don't know if anyone is going to respond to this nor do I know if anyones advice will do me any good. I am in a strange situation and it seems that she doesn't care anymore I know that people need some detachment when dealing with an ex but I feel terrible when I speak to her. Please help me if you can.
