Self hate is only the surface. Scratch below it you will find self sadness, a sense of not knowing that each day you start over from scratch: each morning is clear, unvarnished, and available to our design. Get up and do one thing the first hour that puts value into your day and your self. It does not have to be big, just done. No one gets to judge you whether it is important or not; it is important to you as you learn to define yourself. The pebbles of self worth are build daily as you take small accomplishments no matter their size to others and place them in the foundation of self. You are building the house of you. Approval of others is not necessary. God watches, God loves and God has already defined you; your goal is to uncover God's view of you. Pebble by pebble, day by day, moment by moment. When the self critic's voice pops up and tries to smash your pebbles, go back and see how each day felt to you when you smoothed the stones as you placed them in your foundation. The critical voice is just that: an empty voice that wishes to bring you unhappiness. You are bigger than this voice. Believe in your own voice as you stack your pebbles daily. God smiles down upon you as you thank Him while you review the pebbles you have stacked through the day. Every day brings a new dimension of who you are. Discover it. God already knows and He wants you to know, also. Believe this because it is true.
