Subject: Welcome to the Incompetent Cervix board!!!!

Hi, Welcome all to a board dedicated to women who have IC. Please feel free to use this board to discuss your success or loss and anything about I C in general.

I lost my first (and so far only) child at 23 wks gestation. I had no labor pains and only a mild uncomfortable feeling like I had to go to the bathroom. I felt a balloon like thing coming out and thought I was crazy! I went to the hospital and everyone thought I was crazy. My contractions were not registering on the monitor and I was left in a room for about 45 mins until I started bleeding everywhere. The dr came in and said I was dialated 10 cm and it was inevitable that I would have the baby that day. I was then wheeled to L&D and told to push. I was like "OK", I didn't feel any need to push at all. They broke my water and said that the baby had smashed my bladder so they had to drain it for almost 5 mins. They hooked me to pitocin and then found that the baby was footling breech so we opted for a C Section emergency. When I woke up Olivia (my daughter) was still alive but died shortly after. I am thankful that she was still alive for me to see her and wish I could have seen her more while I had the chance.
Now my husband and I are trying for another baby. We have been since Sept. Hopefully we will have good news soon.
Please feel free to post any experiences you would like to share.
Sarah
