Subject: Igbos and their Culture

Uzo touched a very important phenomenon when she berated Igbos for their lack of self love. That is what it is.I do not know of any nation in this world that as distant from self as us."Igboman" wakeup.Your culture is dying. We wouldn't even teach our children their rich heritage.Visit an Italian, Mexican or Irish family, 'nough said. Our culture or what is remaining of it is rich and vivifying ma chi.Nobody captures the idiom of our living like Osita Osadebe, Nnamdi Olebara, Sir Worrior, Orientals, gentleman Anikutubo. The cadence of our culture is intoxicating.I have agonised over why we are so distant from self, why do we hate self so.What happened to the beautiful akwete cloth and other native threads?Wetin dey worry Igboman self.Him go tell you say im sabi Yourba and Hausa tupu e go tell you say im get igbo for im bone.Na we dey die o; na we dey lose.Time go come wen you no fit gbala izu with your own pikin sake of say you and pikin no saka your own native talk.Make you read Chinua Achebe, Obinkaram Echewa, Nwapa again make you saka wetin you dey troway. Why we dey do dis kind ting.I never see Yoruba or Hausa man wen dey speak igbo for im pikin before make Igboman live for Lagos or Kano for two days na soso Hausa/Youruba/Engish you go dey hear.No get me wrong o idey something to recommend for person wen fit associate with other culture dem.Na strong point. My hala be sey we dey do am throway ourself. Like say you be bushman if you gree say you be Igbo. This self hate has blighted the Irokos as well as the elephant grass of our society.Uzo.com and emeagbali.com the only sites on the web that are evendiscussing this.Uzo in her inimitable way has drawn the bull's eye.The trully liberatedhave a way of soaring and bridging sensibilities.Witness the way she proudly shows off her village and that early fotos that most of us have beqeated to moths..Impressive.Very genuine.
