Subject: My son, Miles

Dear Friends, My heart is heavy, but God is good and has given us peace and comfort at this difficult time. My youngest son, Miles, would have been 40 this June 21st. All our children, of course, are precious to us, but this son had that special "spark" in his personality that God doesn't give to everyone. Over l000 attended his funeral, some waited over an hour to get inside! What a tribute to the man he had become. At the close of the graveside service, some of his "biker" buddies gave a salute...a long engine rev on their Harleys......Miles would have loved it! We all cheered and hollered. His loving spirit is still with us, but how we miss his physical presence! To those who did not see his obit in the Vicksburg paper on 3-8 or the addition on Sun. 3-17, with picture, (a corrected copy should run on 3-20)let me just share the
highlights.....He was electrocuted in a work-related accident on 3-4. Left a wife, Audrey, two children Chad, 19, and a daughter Ashley 16. Had worked many years as lead lineman with Conectiv Power Co. The past two years he had been co-owner of Rock Creek Line Construction Co.; also owned and operated George's Deli and Green Street Barber Shop in Middletown, DE. As a child, Miles spent many happy summers visiting his beloved grandparents in Vicksburg. He was passionate about his family, friends, Harley-Davidsons, his dogs "Tucker" and "Gizmo", hunting, fishing and the Philadelphia Eagles. He embraced life and enjoyed every day to the fullest. Miles will always be remembered by his family and many friends for his loving spirit, infectious laugh and radiant smile.

The entire family wants to thank all of you, our friends, for your prayers, many cards, kind notes, emails, and phone calls. Hopefully, within the next year we'll be traveling thru V'burg and can visit with some of you personally. Until then, May God continue to bless all of us.

Much love, Mary Lou (Thanks, Ed, for the new user-friendly board. Last month I had typed a long, newsy note, but could not get it posted! How frustrating.)
