I skimmed it in the bookstore; I s'pose I'll buy a copy this weekend. The end of it was the eye-popper: a skein of unsourced speculation, along the lines of "Why was Brian's hair bleached after his death? Why was his body preserved in a special way? Why did Bob Dylan help pick out the coffin? Why was the coffin buried so deep?"

Hell-o. None of these factoids are exactly common knowledge, so how 'bout giving a *source* for these wild'n'crazy allegations. I mean, Bob Dylan? Brian's hair was bleached? What the...?

Really, it resembled a page of Erik Von Daniken's brand of speculation more than anything else. "Why did the Maya know about Uranus and Neptune?" Uh... there's no evidence that they did-- and if god-like aliens told them, how come the Maya didn't know about Pluto? "What was the purpose of the second, secret well in Chichen Itza?" Uh, it's in the middle of the city, so it's no great secret, and maybe it was there because the Maya needed *water*.

Bizarro questions with no named source and no apparent purpose other than to confuse people should be met with one sort of answer: a steady application of Occam's Razor.
