Thanks for sharing, Rob!

This interview is such a reminder of the incomplete portrait of Brian we have without his side of the story, isn't it? Notice how he discusses recording with the Beatles [clearly You Know My Name] and says that he just bought a soprano sax -- "You know, it’s a funny thing – you get hold of something and put it on everyone’s records." The story told by Paul is Brian being asked to join them and unexpectedly bringing a sax, which makes Brian appear loopy and in his own little world. Reading this interview, you can see Brian just happened to be into the sax at the moment -- in this context, it makes perfect sense as to why he showed up with a sax! Such nuances really can make a difference.
