Good point, Rob. People tend to forget the chain of events that led to Keith "stealing" her, probably because they don't cast Brian in a good light.

As to why it's "always Mick and Keith"...

They have name recognition. They're the ones who wrote the hit songs that conspiracy types consider Evidence A for "they stole Brian's band!!!"-- they were, in short, the ones calling the shots.
It may be a simplification, but it's an *easy* simplification.
Biopics, for the most part, are about Making Things Easy to Depict. They are also about glamour, which M&K have and C&B do not.

If people made a movie about the Who, they'd probably minimize John Entwistle's role; if they made one on Led Zeppelin, they'd ignore John Paul Jones. Note that Backbeat ignored George Harrison and Pete Best. It's just the way movies work.
