We were some of the 150,000 that actually BOUGHT tickets ! I had just graduated High School in Tucson,AZ a month before and was visiting some cousins in western Mass. when they said "HEY,wanna go to an outdoor concert ?" I said yes, and we packed-up the van and drove (almost) all the way there after buying tickets for just $10 each. The Mass.Pike and the New York Thru-way were closed to all hippie-type people already, so we took a bunch of farm roads and made it to within 10 miles of the race track, and walked the rest of the way 10-20 people wide down the road to the concert! We found a place to sit about 20 yards from the stage (right next to a giant marijuana flag, where {I was told you could purchase some there!}) and settled in for the best show I have ever been to (and I've been to over 200 concerts in my life!) The rain was a bummer but only lasted 1/2 hour ! Also a bummer was watching a skydiver catch on fire and fall to his demise behind the stage into the Finger Lakes...yikes... there was another death(heroin overdose-that's a givin for a city of an updated estimate of 750,000...) BUT ther was a birth, too,so we were only net 1 soul lost !!! The music and the people were GREAT and will always be etched in my memories! It took us a day to get back to western Mass. and I ended up staying/working there for about 7 months until I finally came back to attend the Univ. of Arizona in 1975 (a year later than planned- but this adventure was SO WORTH IT !!!) Thanks for reading this...PEACE ..MARS*
