I was there and found you by doing a search to see if there was any reference to it on the interenet. I was 21 hitchhiked from southern cal. and stayed for the whole festival...there were mud baths by the river and a huge sauna made by some of the locals...some of the bands played naked. Near the end i had gotten into the mud whole where about 10 peoplewould rub you down ...i then baked in the su n and dozed off ... when i awoke there were a bunch of guys from the local convention that was going on .. i was not sure what the convention was but knew there was one,,,the came to obsrve the dirty hippies and there i was baked in mud and naked...i jumped into the very cold river that ran by and washed off, sat down and talked to the conventioneers..
after talking to me the asked me what a nice kid like me was doing in aplace like this.....i smile and said " listneing to some pretty good music(not the best) and enjoying a bunch of very beautiful very nice and very naked bunch of youngwomen.... They seem to see the point...
other memories... several bands played nude....i dont think there was any where near 100,000 people there ...35,000 to 50,000 at very most...So much happened on that hitchhike up the cal. coast to vortex and back i think i could write a book too....I never realized that this was the first vortex
festival...i understand there have been many since....we ate lots of brown rice and vegetables all free...and rember a beautiful teepee near the "kitchen" area///anyone else there?
