He's looking for information on LCP (L)'s and on Guadalcanal.

My name is Jarek and I'm from Poland. I work on book about the campaign on Guadalcanal so I'm interested in Americans small landing crafts. May you grant me some help in questions about LCP (L).
I will be most thankful for your help.
1) In what year LCP (L) entered military use? In 1940 or maybe 1941?
2) What was the complete production (in numbers) of that Higgins boat LCP(L)? During D-Day at Guadalcanal they ware present in number such as 303 or 308 multiple dates says other numbers.
3) Ware they mainly armed with twin MG Lewis Mk1? Maybe they ware armed with Browning Mk 1919 ? On few pictures (photos) they are presented only with Lewis Guns.
4) Was LCP (L) armored? No, as I think but I may be wrong.
