 My Dad served in the Navy from 1943-1946. He died in 1951 in a Mining accident. All I have about his time during the WW2 is a list he kept of dates and where he was or what ship he was on during that time. He list the USS Barnett in Feburary 1944 and on June 6 1944 he lists "LCM 57 France"
Later dates in that year lists USS Eleazer Wheel and LST 983 and LCI 305 His name was Joseph "Joe" W. Hughes if anyone served with him or know anything about these ships please email me. Thank You
