Subject: Women beat Towson 55-50

This afternoon the women's team did not looks as good as they did Tuesday against UMBC but were good enough to keep Towson winless.

Quick comments:

Amy Dessart Mager had another solid game on the boards.

Shontrese Smith realy made things happen. Though she had 5 turnovers today she has really improved at driving and dishing off to an open player.

Lindsay Cobb did a good job of shutting down Towson's Mia Chapman in the 2nd half. Chapman killed us in the first half but never really got any good looks in the 2nd half.

Though the game was close throughout the 2nd half I never really had the feeling that we were in danger of losing even when we trailed.

There is no way that there were 328 people in attendance as listed in the boxscore. I'd say that 100 would be a generous estimate. It looked like a game marketed by Loyola's athletic department. Considering that Towson has approx 15,000 students that turnout was pathetic.
