Agree with your comments on the program, and as I posted in a response above, I agree with you on Ellerbe as well.

Not sure I agree that Xavier is not much different than Loyola, however. I know they have improved a lot over recent years, but a few years ago they were able to pay Dino the same money to be an assistant as we were paying him to be a head coach. They also had more recent history, and were in a better conference.


I felt as betrayed as anyone when Skip left, but I think his mind was made up. It was a better job, and it was a place where he had established a lot of roots. I am sure Loyola could have kept him with some ridiculous amount of money, but I am not sure that would have been something they could have justified either. We should not be paying coaches what they make in the ACC, regardless of how good a coach is.
