by my also fuzzy memory, Darius disliked Ellerbe from day one and never returned, Julian had trouble staying on the basketball court, and Milt never really improved all that much. It seems to me a kid named Rowe might have cost Milt some playing time towards the end of his career as well.
I think the truth on Skip is somewhere down the middle. He is an excellent coach, as he has shown everywhere he has been. But he did inherit a lot of talent, and was fortunate enough to have all of that talent on the court at the same time -- a rarity, unfortunately. Had he stayed I think we would have been a .500 team in the MAAC the next year, or so, and hopefully would have improved over the next few years until he eventually left, with certainly a better foundation in place.
