·Young mare watches as the present battle occurs. She sighs with boredom and snorts. She nips her yearling's flank softly, directing the obnoxious youth towards the spring. Foot is stomped and tail swishes from side to side, ridding her of the horrible insects of spring. She drinks for a great length of time, quenching her large thirst. She nips her filly and sends her away, baring her teeth to insure no rebellion.·

†·youth snaps at her mother for nipping her, barely grazing her hide. Delicate lobes lace to cranium in annoyance. Filla snorts and stomps a foot, getting but a swallow of water before she was sent away. Rebellious charger stomped a foot, squealed in protest and then walked slowly away, kicking up dust to show her disgust. Filla trots to watch the battle for the mare, meanwhile sneaking up to the mare. She nickers to her and invites her to rest beneath the trees, trying to trick her father and half-brother into thinking the mare ran away or was stolen by another steed. She laughed evilly inside her wicked brain.·†
