ASF Points
AFS point will be given for behavior that supports the AFS mission. There will be a manditory meeting for the students to discuss what they want to redeem there points for (trip, merchandise, etc..)and how we want to structure the point system.

Promote AFS
· 25 points per hour, max of 100 points per activity for an AFS activity, in public, that you wear your AFS t-shirt to.
· 200 points for making a presentation about your country AND the core values of AFS to a peer group or childrens group. Examples: international day event, an organized club meeting, an elementary school class, a church meeting.
· 500 points for making a presentation about your country AND the core values of AFS to an adult audiance. Examples: a booth at an international day, an organized club meeting, a church or a local library presentation.
· Help with AFS related activities like the web page.
· 100 points Make a poster about AFS during hosing or sending recruiting periods, to hang on HS wall.

Going to AFS Web-Site
· 25 points for printing the "Letter from Jenny" (when updated on the AFS_BC web site) and give to family. Have host parent email george@ieee.org that you did.
· 50 points to find the Monthly AFS Fact about the cultures of other AFS students on the AFS_BC web-site email where it is to george@ieee.org.
· 50 pionts Find Monthly Clue on the AFS_BC web-site and email where and what it is to george@ieee.org. (The Monthly Clue is: A picture or symbol that is not related to the article.)


School, Community, or Church Club Participation
· 1000 points if you are an active club member for the whole school year.
· 25 points for 1 meeting.
· 100 points to bake or buy a cake or cupcakes for your High School PTA.
(schedule this with the school Principal)

Participation in Community Activities
Examples: Hanging of the Greens in Annapolis (Nov), visit a nursing home resident or older person in your neighborhood, go Christmas carolling, volunteer to help at your local library, walk around your neighborhood block and pick up trash.

Helping your neighbor: Cut grass, shovel snow, wash cars baby sit, help carry groceries, bring in mail when on vacation, walk their dog. If you are paid it still counts!

· 25 points per hour for a meeting.
· 50 points for 1hour of light duty.
· 100 points for 1hour of heavy duty

Make New Friends In Person
Learn 5 things about your new friend, email info to george@ieee.org
· 5 points for an AFS related person.
· 20 points for all other people.

INFORMATION WE SHOULD GENERATE FOR A REFERANCE LIST, WITH CONTACT NAMES, THE STUDENTS CAN USE TO CALL ABOUT GETTING INVOLVED WITH SOME OF ACTIVITIES

Cultural Activities
Call Nursing Homes in Howard County to generate list of Seniors who speak English as a second language.
International Festivals students can volunteer to help at:

Activities That Help Our Community
Call a few community services orgs like Jaycees and Lyons Club about local event kids might be able to help at.

Activities That Help AFS

Call some local orgs, churches, clubs about their willingness to be an a referance list that the students could use if they want to call an organization about giving a presentation about their country and AFS core values.
