Watching her two friends, she feels a great deal of calm and peace overcome her. Before coming here, she had been hurt by everyone she had known, her own father included, but those here had opened to her, been kind and caring. Looking from Calm Waters to the halter, she waits to see what the mare would do. She didn't want to own her, but . . more of a partner, someone she could trust with her life and tell all of her secrets too. A friend . . .
