I don't know about research on this, but there is a need to PREVENT all the many vile deeds; nobody should even THINK of hurting others! Then there would be no guilty consciences, and in turn no sicknesses that are the result of the guilt feelings. BE GOOD, or at least BETTER!
..... Religions/belief systems have their rules and regulations, but these are NOT being obeyed by most of the so-called "believers".
