The blood-red dragonet

Cadeyrn swallowed as he realized the blood-Bronze dragonet was making his way toward him. Or maybe another boy behind him? Hastily glancing around, he started as it sunk in that he was the only boy on the Sands.
{You. I Chose you.}
The thought echoed throughout his mind as the Bronze latched a rather large claw onto his pantleg. Cade gazed down at the blood-bronze, shock in his wide light-grey eyes. Surely he had heard wrong. Hadn't he?
{No. I chose you. My name is Kainth. You are mine.}
Cadeyrn, who would be called C'deyrn from now on, grinned at the odd-colored Bronze. Kneeling he reached down and began scratching Kainth's eye ridges, love clearly showing in his own orbs. Suddenly his nearly-white eyes darted up and skittered over the Candidates, the Weyrwoman, the golden matire. "He says his name is Kainth," he called out for all to hear.
Kyanna grinned at the sight of the blood-bronze, Kainth by name, and his Impressed. She was sure she did not know the boy, but he looked so familar. Could it be... But no. That would be nearly impossible. Her brother's best friend had disappeared years ago, just after Kylin had died. He had to be dead by now. Didn't he? Pondering upon that thought for a moment, she put the whole ordeal to a stand-still as her attention was once again snagged by the duo. Such a pair. Both gorgeous creatures. Both proud and just a bit arrogant, if one could go by their stances... Kyanna's grin widened as she heard the hungry creel of the dracling, followed by the growl of the newly Impressed boy's stomache. Both hungry. Her sparkling, marble-green gaze watched with happiness as the new to-be Bronzerider got to his feet and lead the creeling dracling away from the Sands, and to some food. Shifting her happy gaze to the others present, the golden matire, and the remaining nine eggs, she watch carefully for the slightest movement amongst them all. Perhaps she might Impress one from this Clutch? Never give up hope. One of her favorite mottos.
