hey,
i have : cavern set, room and passage set, octagonal room set, wicked editions set, and some extras (you can buy singles to fill it out)
they are really great in detail and fun to play with. the 3d really adds something to the game.
i really enjoy taking all the pieces and using them like legos.. trying to figure out what kind of dungeon i can make for my heros.
i would say you should start with the room and passage set, then probobly another room set. the cavern and wicked aditions add alot of detail and mix up the normal rooms.
so your right.. 3-4 sets will get you playing nice size games.. and you can always get more.
i actually have a contact that sells the stuff pretty cheap (about 75% or retail) so if your interested fire me an email.. and ill let you know.

as far as rules go i use the same mods i do for the normal game. my heros like the dungeons because we end up playing shorter games.. (there are fewer rooms, but the rooms are also bigger) and then it is easier to play more often.

you cant beat them for the price.. felt on the bottom, hand painted.. durable, ok, i guess that is enough for now :)
