Subject: Hello (long)

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this site. I had no idea HeroQuest was still alive. I thought I was the only one who still remembered it but I guess I was wrong. Lately I've been doing work in Flash 5 and then one day I had an urge to make a game. Something... medieval, with swords and monsters and stuff. And then I remembered how much I loved HeroQuest in my younger days and I began to code... and code... and code. That's about all I did for two weeks until now that I went online and found this whole new world to HeroQuest that I was completely unaware of. I will try to visit this site whenever I am online and maybe I can participate somehow in these online games (not sure how they work) Anyway, right now I am in the process of programming sight for the heros. So far, heros can see monsters either in the same hall or same room as them, or if they are one square diagonal to them. Basically all the graphics were done by me, and I must say I am relieved to know that the images for the game cards are online, else I would've had to drawn them all myself! If I would've known that I could've found all these things online, I wouldn't have spent hours drawing the whole board and other graphics all out. Oh well, I guess it adds an original feel to it. Oh yea, heh, hope no one hates me for this when they see it, but I changed the Elf to female. So far I've only drawn the Orc, Goblin, Barbarian, and the Elf. I want to get the coding out of the way before I draw any other sprites/portraits. So yea, I will post it online when the Beta version is ready so those interested can give it a try and give me feedback. Sorry for the long message, I guess I am a bit excited to know that there are other fellow HQ fans out there. Oh yea, if someone knows of a better tool than Flash but as easy to use to code a game, please let me know, because performance may be an issue. Feel free to email me. Take care.
