alright anne, hopefully we can put this to rest. if you can show me where "mattress" was "misspelled on several occasions," then you will have proven me wrong. if not, i think your memory sucks, since i can see only one time where st. cloud katie spelled "mattress" with one "t."

you know what? i'm just going to prove myself wrong, since i now see what you were talking about. the subject title was also "matress," which does allow the reader to infer that, indeed, st. cloud katie does not know how to spell "mattress." so, with that said, i retract my statement that your memory sucks, anne (and admit that my last post was a sucky, sucky post since it was not based on fact), but i still stand by my original statement that you are not the spelling police. when you correct people's spelling in an online forum such as this, you are the one who's made out to look sucky, since you take a "holier than thou" approach to the situation and, no matter what you say, appear as if you are, in fact, claiming to be infallible when it comes to matters of spelling. and if you truly feel the need to point out misspelled words here, why, may i ask, have you not mentioned that andy misspelled "suckiness" on the main page? if you have actually undertaken a ceaseless quest for spelling greatness, you obviously suck at that as well.
