Firstly, there is really no excuse for what I did ... and I cannot tell you how sorry I am (but I will try) ... I'm REALLY REALLY SORRY, please forgive me.

I am not going to attempt too many excuses etc. But I will try to answer your question. OK, here is the story ... I found those two emails, and mailed both of them. The one that was not yours posted back, and it was evidently a fake. The other one (your actual e-mail) did not reply, and it was on several imposter lists so I immediately assumed it was a fake. Evidently I was VERY wrong.

Someone asked for your email on that STUPID forum voy.com/57657/ ... and I thought those were fake emails so I posted them. I really was convinced they were fake or I would NEVER have put them anywhere, let alone a board full of Dan-crazy fans. It was basically a case centered around a lack of signposting ... and a bit of confusion. But, this does sound a bit like an excuse, so let me assure you that it is definitely not! Dan, I am really, genuinely sorry.

I was adamant that they were fake, and I now realise the damage my split-second (fairly impulsive) decision has caused. Trust me, if I had known you were the real Dan I would NEVER have posted that email there ... If anyone respects privacy, I do (or should have). You know about me and all my performing, right?

Well, I hope I have shed some light on my mistake here, and Dan, I hope you understand. You worried about being rude in your post - you are DEFINITELY not rude, you are the opposite (very polite) so do not, even if for one second, think you are rude. I completely betrayed your trust (OK, it was under ambiguous circumstances but it was still a mistake) and you tell me "Good luck with everything you do." Thank you very much for your politeness, you seem like a very nice person and your kind attitude will, I am sure, take you far.

PS - I know this seems completely out of place in this apology email / post, but congratulations on an outstanding performance in "HP and the Philosopher's Stone." Well done!
