Have a previous style (gray on a yellow body), bought IIRC heavily discounted at CVS Pharmacy. Clock on mine doesn't keep time well, but the radio delivers really surprising clarity and volume on AM. Didn't buy it for the clock, anyway. I listen to Talk-radio on AM, the news (such as it is) comes a bit more often and in more detail, and on AM approaching T-storms may be heard before they're coming in the windows. On balance IMHO it's good gear. RKBA! Best regards.
